manifest destiny

i’m probably going to be
moving here in the next
few months

to the house where i hope to
achieve my manifest destiny
of being the unemployed genius,
misunderstood poet living
in his mother’s basement

and this house i’m most
likely moving into
is right next door to a house
that has a Christmas tree
on the front porch and
christmas lights up year round
