i don't know how to tell
if a poem is any good.

i only know how i feel
when someone says something
that hits me in the gut,
shaking up my insides.

i DO know when a poem is bad.

anyone who writes
about how good a poet
they are, or
how many compliments
they get from others
on their poems,
is truly bad, and
they know it.

they want to brainwash you.

if you're good, you don't have to
convince me or anyone.

you know who you are.
